Gents, some advice please. I have had my R3 for just a little over a month now and I have run it on the battery only TWICE; every other time it has been on AC 100%.

When I first got the R3, the battery designed capacity and full-charged capacity as reported by HWiNFO were both at 93xxx Wh. When I ran it on battery power once (letting it discharge completely before putting it back on AC as I had been conditioned to do for years), the values dropped to 90000 Wh. Just today I also ran on battery power for only the SECOND TIME EVER and it says it's 100% charged at 87560 Wh with 2.7% wear. Jeez at this rate I'll have a completely useless battery in about 30 cycles. ???!?! Also, even with the most aggressive power saving plan -- absolute minimum screen brightness, Optimus, max. CPU state limited to 75% (1.8 GHz) and all other power-saving options chosen -- I got about 3 hours of web-surfing, MS-Word and some video.

What is Dell's policy regarding battery defects and replacements?

Ok, reading around, I learned a few things... DON'T fully discharge a Li-ion battery, but don't leave it perpetually at 100% charge (i.e. plugged-in) either. Well this is not going to be as easy as I thought... :/

yeah it is a constant pain in the back, either remove your battery occasionally to keep it intact, or face deterioration soon enough, happened with every single of my laptops, at the end you have a handful of 30-45 minutes of battery life, then you replace battery, pain...
