    Hi,

I've noticed a horizontal line that appears on the external display (connected via hdmi) when I'm running the 6970m. It probably happens about a dozen or more times a day... It just flickers for a split second, but still is annoying. It happens randomly - on idle on desktop or working on cad or watching a video or browser. I use a pretty good hdmi cable - its a belkin thats rated for 3d transmissions as well, so i'm not sure why its acting like this.

It happens a lot less on my integrated graphics but it still does occasionally. Could it be a driver thing? I recently uninstalled my video drivers and re-installed the 11.5 and 11.6 over that but still have the problem.

    Any solutions or ideas?

    Thanks,
    Carthik

Do you have another cable to test with? Maybe even another external display (or different hdmi port), maybe even a TV or a monitor.

Yea try what Smooth J suggested, it sounds more like a cable/connection problem.

The reason I'm skeptical about it being a cable issue is because, it happens a lot more often with the dedicated graphics turned on... which is why i'm inclined to think its got something to do with a computer, but anyway i will try to get my hands on another hdmi cable soon. But if anyone else has ideas, please do let me know! Thanks...
