Well not loose so much as missing. I posted a while ago saying how when i went to go add some ram to my R3 there were 4 screws missing that hold down the keyboard. So i called it in...the tech (India of course), said that he couldnt find the right part number so he was going to send me all the screws. Well...... he sent me 4 screws all right.....4 different screws, only 1 is the right one. So i am still missing 3 screws. So i call back again.... another tech (Indian again, shocker), still couldnt find the right part, so he is going to send me 4 of each of the same screws again....lol....well, again, at least i will have extras. i would be willing to bet that for all the money Dell saves by oursoursing, they loose it in incompitance.... Other than missing screws, i am Loving my new R3...very glad i went with the 6970 over the 460 this time....i am much happier this go-round.

Take this as an advice.
Do not ever never try to tight them real tight. This is so because, i just screwed up my system, as the screws were tightened real hard and they lost their threads. The Tech team had to cut down the Base Top Cover to get access to Mobo. But failed. Now i am shipping my system to DTS's Office. They will be checking the whole system thoroughly and will replace the parts.
Moral: Tighten them, but not too hard. -
Thanks for the tip...good luck on yours

guys.... i donno where u get that information about indian techs, but all the time i am calling (and i've had 7 calls for last month) all techs are from PUERTO RICO
+ I would follow GxGaNi 's advice and not try to tighten em too hard, that will only do bad to your screws. they should be in for as much as they can hold the parts together non-loose
also, I heard you were missing some screws in there? Well, if English was your 2nd language (in my case, even 3rd), you would understand the effort it takes to understand someone in English over the phone, ofc it will take a while for tech to understand what screws r u talking about while he has never even seen the system with his own eyes, they earn around $50 a week, i think its worth to respect anybody 's effort to try to help you, coz i've been dealing with local american techs and those guys dont give a bean about your problem, take my word for it.
Also note that the techs dont send you the parts, it is factory that sends those, and 9 out of 10 times the factory screws up hard -
If you want to pay the shipping (from Ontario Canada) I can send you some of the 200+ screws dell sent me a year ago. They also couldn't figure out which ones I needed, so they sent me 4 of everything.

lol, thanks but i think dell has me covered now.... to the point that one of the other posters made....i am never rude to the tech support guys, but i have little patience for screwups... i paid a premieum for this laptop and service. Who dell choses to employ and what they pay them is not my care....i just want good service. if that comes from India or the US, i could care less....i have jsut seen a bad trend with the outsourced suport thus far.

I totally agree I spent a lot of money for this system and want good support. The last thing I want to do is to talk to someone who has an English level of a 2 year old.
