Hi there,
I'm trying to re-install the OS from the disc provided by Alienware however I've run into a problem. The problem is during the install process the install keeps getting stuck at "Expanding Windows files...", I've tried it a few times and it is getting stuck at various stages (currently it is stuck at 22%) and now there is no reading from the disc.
Does anyone have a fix for this? I am installing onto a Samsung SSD. This is the first time I've run into a problem with it.
The laptop is M17x R3 with BIOS A08.

Have you ruled out it isn't the disc itself? I would download a legit copy of Windows 7 from here:
Download Windows 7 ISO (Official 32-bit and 64-bit Direct Download Links) « My Digital Life
If you a spare USB stick laying around, burn the ISO to the USB stick and see if you can install from there. If not, I would trouble shoot the drive and swap it out to see if that is causing the install to halt. -
I agree with Remedy i also had same issue but dont rule out the SSD i had agility 3 SSD and would not install tried countless times after 10th time it decided to install.. make sure it reads in bios as a proper drive.. otherwise take remedy idea and try USB install take half the time..

I ended up making a bootable USB out of my Alienware disc, and it installed perfectly well.
Thanks for the tips.
