I can't seem to change my graphics (sometimes). Whenever i switch graphics my screen flickers and everything on my screen frozen except my mouse. I have to press the power button then wake it back up. Even then it still hasn't switch my graphics. Once in a while it switches my graphics without a problem but most of the time it gives me this problem.

Also i make sure i'm in battery saving mode before i switch the graphics.

    Couple quick questions for you:

Are you running on battery power or plugged in when this happens?
What drivers do you have installed?
Is there a reason you're in battery saving mode when you switch?

Have you done any overclocking? Don't pay attention to that crap, I don't think that's what it says but either way don't pay attention to it. Make sure you're on high performance, also try a switch in the CCC by right clicking on the desktop, select "Configure Switchable Graphics", then select the option you want by clicking on it. Also if that doesn't work try an uninstall/reinstall of the drivers.

I have the same problem and a reinstall, actually about 10 reinstalls did not solve my issues. For now I am just dealing with it, I just reboot as many times as it takes to get to IGP. Sometimes it takes one reboot and sometimes two. Also the problem persists while switching from 6970m to IGP only, I have never had a issue while switching from IGP to 6970m.

Same results here, I don't have problems going to igp to 6970m but everything is stock. Didn't overclock or change any drivers

I'm curious, why would anyone ever want this gaming beast to run on the Intel graphics? I suppose battery life but really, running this thing on battery? I can't see it. Of course, I don't do anything on mine except play games.

    Cheers,

When I first got this laptop, I had the same issue... but I relized the only time I had this problem was when I was running a program like IE, FF or anything else. If I had just the desktop showing, with no other programs but the back ground ones....

Havent had a problem switching since I relized that.

~ Running Dell Stock Drivers with 11.6 installed over them.
