My R3 doesn't recognize my 16GB SDHC (high capacity SD card) but it works in an external card reader and other computers.

Is my card reader slot broken or does the R3 have the old readers that are limited to 4Gb cards? Unfortunately I don't have a normal SD card to test with.

I use a 32GB SDHC in mine. Must be your reader. I'm guessing drivers are not installed?

Hmm odd. I'm didn't clean install so I would imagin the drivers are already installed. I'm going to Dell to dl it and see if that helps.

If it isn't formatted you might need to go to disk management and format before it will appear.

So what's the word? You better not say "the b b b b b bird," lolz.

Is it just a matter of formatting the actual SDHC card? Or something else you gotta do? Please advise. thx1

I just popped the card in and out a few times and now suddenly the thing decided to wake up...I didn't do anything special to convince it to work.

Prolly the stupid drivers installation. Sometimes that used to happen when I plugged in a usb mouse or external into my desktop. Had to do it a few times before it started mysteriously working.

After playing with it some more, it seems to randomly work/not work. Definitely faulty.

What's faulty? The sd card or the card slot? Does this mean a replacement is in order?

Well I have a replacement on the way for other reasons, but for sure this SD card reader is wonky.
