The AW17 now have much more flexible configurations, i.e pre config# 1 can now go up to 780m + 120hz w/3D Bundle without the expensive add-ons like 16gb ram, blu-ray player and mSATA drives.

But, I noticed pre config# 2, AMD's R9 M290X can now be paired the 120hz w/3D Bundle. This puzzles me because I was under the impression it can't support 3D. But at least it can use 120hz for better response :D.

The last time I checked AW17 UK & France both have the option to add 120hz w/3D bundle with R9 M290X.

All it needed was microcode support for 120hz at boot. If AMD have added that it will work fine without NV 3D. There are a bunch of aftermarket 3d add-ins for AMD I believe.

This is true. There are many add-ons that could help with that config.
