Hi i posted this before....donno for sm reason the thread got closed and i didnt get any proper answers
    here it is:

guys guys i neeeed help !!!

    I ordered a m17x with 6Gb 1600 MHz ram

    i have Corsair Vengeance 4+4 = 8GB 1600 MHz
Vengeance® ? 8GB High Performance Laptop Memory Upgrade Kit (CMSX8GX3M2A1600C9) - Vengeance - Memory by Product Family got for $50 from newegg

    Cas Latency: 9
    Timing: 9-9-9-24
    Voltage: 1.5V

I was thinkin of adding that 8gb in my M17x.

Will that be a good idea , since the 6GB will still be on Hybrid Dual Channel

or do you think i should only put 8gb

    so shud i stay with (4GB+2GB) + (4GB+4GB) = 14GB
    or just (4GB+4GB) = 8GB

also do you think keeping it like this would be good?
    (4+4) + (4) = 12GB

if i dont use the 6gb, it will just be lying around cz i got nowhere to attach it :(
and i dont wanna sell it, cz i will loose the warranty

    pls help !
    thnk u

You did get several answers, man. Maybe come back in a timely manner if you're asking others for help.

Consensus was no, don't mix them. Some of your RAM would not be operation dual channel.

And it is spelled "should". Seriously.

8gb is more then enough for games.
I run multiple systemens for work in vmware workstation. (sharepoint with sql server and domain controller)
Thats why im on 32gb, otherwise i would be on 8 too..
