RAM BIOS POST code (flashing caps lock) when laptop is rebooted (R2) using new 8 gig Corsair kit

I just bumped my laptop up to 8 gig (Corsair CMSO8GX3M2A1333C9 kit). Everything seems like it's working great, except every time I restart my computer it comes up with the RAM BIOS POST code (flashing caps lock, num and scroll lock on solid). At that point I have to physically shut the laptop off then turn it back on again. Every memory diagnostic and stress test I've tried runs fine (f12 boot extended diagnostic, Windows Memory Diagnostic, OCCT, 3dmark2k6, etc) but the laptop fails every time it reboots. It boots up every time on a cold boot (i.e. the unit is shutdown instead of rebooted).

If I crank the RAM voltage up to 1.7 that seems to fix the problem, but that's not my preferred solution is there is another fix. Again, it seems to be running solid at 1.5 but it just won't reboot successfully.

    Thanks in advance.

    Specs:

    R2 m17x
920 xm ES (no OC for the sake of testing)
    Dual 5870s
    1920x1200 RGBLED
    Bios A10

If you put in your original sticks do you still get the same code?
have you tried one stick only?
Any CPU overclock (try stock everything if it's the case)

Usually this code can be given as a result of badly seating the LCD cables on the motherboard (that in case you opened it up recently), it's worth trying.

Original RAM works fine. Reseated and swapped the modules a couple times but no help. Tried alternating sticks and although they both pass every diag I've mentioned it's clearly happening on one and not the other. Cleaned the contacts, reseated but it's still happening so I guess there's my answer. Thanks for the suggestion.

Shows up with the full amount. I'm running through the Corsair RMA procedure which involves running MEMTEST which I'm doing on the bad module right now. No errors on the first pass, but right after it tried to reboot and POSTed out again. Weird. Either way, it only happens with one module so that module is definitely bad.

Byshop, that's the same exact problem I had today. I ordered the same RAM for my M17x R1, and installing both, or just one of the 4GB modules in the 8GB kit would cause caps lock to blink. With ith just the other one by itself in slot 1, the comp boots just fine. Oh well, RMA'd back to Newegg... Corsair is good RAM, this stuff just happens sometimes.
