Hi guys, just planning how I want my R3 when I get it. Just wanted some advice on the RAM. I don't know whether I should get 8GB HyperX 1600Mhz RAM or 16GB value 1333Mhz RAM. Can get both for around the same price. Just wondering what your opinions are.

    Thanks in advanced.

If they are both the same price, the choice is obvious. Even if the Hyper is a bit more, the choice remains obvious. Get the faster RAM! :)
The only reason to get the slower RAM is to add to the existing RAM that came with the system. Potential drawback to that is dismantling the laptop. Check out Joebarchuck's video on youtube to see what is involved. It does not seem to hard, but to me, not worth the effort. 8GB is enough for today!

I am totally new at this. Is this the RAM I need to buy?

    Kingston hyperx 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 Non-ECC CL9 SODIMM desktop memory dual channel kit. (PC312800) 204-Pin So DIMM.

It says desktop but in the description says it is for notebooks. I have to buy from Amazon. Thanks.

Note the difference between the model numbers. I am not going to research this again, but there was a difference. Get the RAM from Newegg, not Amazon. Plus, the one from Amazon is not really from Amazon, it is from another seller (Beach Audio).
I always buy Amazon, as I have a prime membership. In this case, it was Newegg FTW!
