    So let me get this right.

    The RX480 MXM works in the M17X R3 without iGPU/SG enabled and without 120HZ?
    Does it need driver mods or anything?

    Hold on, you got RX 480 working in a Ranger??
    How? I thought only WX 7100 worked in Alienware.

    In SG mode card shows in device manager and after radeon pro drivers installation
    Radeon pro driver installed without trouble. Needs hwinfo for manual fan profile though

    You did make the RX480 vbios work in your M17R4 didn't you?
    Sme in Ranger: WX7100 works. And so does RX480 (with vbios you provided).
    Both in SG mode as I have LVDS panel.

    got card stuck in 3d low power mode (300/300Mhz)... Strange behaviour
    BIOS is A16 unlocked.
