Didn't find any documentation in the Alienware User's guide.
Since this Raid level is mirror, figured it should be possible to disable.

Anyone try this? If not, and I need to do a re-install, does DELL send appropriate disks?

Go into the bios and select AHCI. That should disable it. Then you can wipe the second HDD and use it for storage

    Oles Chief,

Yup do the above and you will have to wipe your hard drives partition and re install the OS. Every time you want to change from either RAID 0 or 1 or back to not using RAID arrays you will have to reformat and re install the OS.

Yes, Dell should have given you a Windows 7 dvd which would have come with your system. So you can use that to re install the OS. Then go onto the dell drivers and support website and download all the drivers and software updates that you need.

I believe Grimfan made a nice thread with a list of up to date drivers and software to install after re install the OS fresh step by step.

    Cheers. :)

I thought Dell stop shipping OS disks a few months back?

I think the OEMs have to ship Discs in case something happens. :)
