    Raid between these 2 hdd

    Is it possible to make RAID with these 2 hard drives in the Alienware m17x R3??

    Same size 320 GB, same model ST9320423AS, same rpm, BUT DIFFERENT FW version.

    First, new from Dell SAT. The other is one I have since 2 years ago.

    Ya, you could update the firmware..however, it doesn't matter what firmware you have. It will still raid just fine.

    In the Seagate's website there isn't FW update for none of them :(

    Than don't worry about updating it. Just raid them :D Just be sure to do regular back ups because when just one of them dies, your SOL and all info is gone.
