    Hi guys,

    Need some help here.

My M17x R2 has been having this random lags lately while playing games; offline / online game or old / new games, same issue.
It will lag after about 5-10 minutes of gameplay. And the lag would last like 5-10 seconds, sometimes the screen will just freeze for 1-3 seconds and then back to normal gameplay with no issues.

I doubt it is my heat as i've checked and it maintains at 55 degrees an never reaches 60. I have updated all the recommended BIOS, drivers from the Dell site and I am using the latest drivers from the ATI / AMD website.

Please help me and guide me step-by-step or post me a link to solve this problem as I am kind of a noob when coming to issues with computers.

    Thank you in advance

Howdy Newbie. Welcome to the forums. :hi2:

You're sure about the temps? Have you ran GPU-z or another real time monitoring program to keep watch on the temps while you game? Another thing that helps is for you to post your full specs and which game/games you are currently having problems with. That gives us a better picture of what could possibly be faulty with your system.

    Hey, Radji.

    Thanx for the prompt reply.

    1. Yes, I have GPU-Z and the Razer Gamebooster application on to watch the temperature on the system.

    2. Will post up the necessary things. (whispers: what do I need to post up? sorry, noob to this sort of thing)

    Thanx again.

Specs always. Look at my sig. It shows what CPU, GPU, RAM amount, etc. That sort of information speaks volumes as to what could be malfunctioning. And as I said before, it always helps to be specific onto which game(s) are freezing. Plus, what settings do you run said game(s) at, best performance, best resolution, etc?

Sounds like memory or HDD/SSD issue

It sounds more as throttling but since he states that the issue is not that unphoto might be right. The HDD or mem could be causing it. Have you tried a Clean Windows Installation?

I have found the solution, guys.
Hope this will help you all out there who has the same prob as me.

    This is what I did:-
    1. Open up Catalyst Control Centre (CCC) - Version 13.1
    2. Disable AMD CrossfireX
    3. Go to the Gaming tab
    4. 3D Application Settings - Change all to this:-
    (a) Anti-Aliasing Mode - Use application settings
    (b) Anti-Aliasing Samples - Use application settings
    (c) Filter - Box
    (d) Anti-Aliasing Method - Use application settings
    (e) Anisotropic Filtering Mode - Use application settings
    (f) Anisotropic Filtering Level - Use application settings
    (g) Wait for Vertical Refresh - Always off
    (h) OpenGL Triple Buffering - Off
    (i) Tessellation Mode - Use application settings
    (j) Maximum Tessellation Level - Use application settings
    5. Go to the Power tab
    6. Uncheck 'Enable Power Play'

Voila...... not even a lag. *knock on wood*

Soooooo, you found the cause but did not fix the problem, at least, thats the way i understand it?
You disabled crossfire and renderered your 2nd card inactive?
The other setting i think could not be the cause of lag, but the CF could be (driver/setting) issue.

Since you never posted you specs like Radji suggested, we won't know what went wrong in the first place.
this kind of driver issue would suggest older hardware....what GPU's are you using?
