Hey, my Alienware has started to completly freeze at random moments, when i got no programs running, just scrolling through mapps, when im playing a game, while im AFK.
And the only thing i can do is reboot, cant do CTRL + ALT + Delete, cant move the mouse, cant do any form of commands at all.
And its not overheating.

Before we dismiss the overheating possibility, what tools do you use for temp monitoring? What's the max load temp on CPU/GPU?
Next, I'd reinstall/update the video drivers/BIOS, check the HDD, RAM. May even do a fresh install of the operating system. -
and before any of that...
What display driver are you using?
What system BIOS?
What system R1, R2, R3?
What GPU(s)?
What game (scrolling through maps)?
Checked event log for any data relating to the freeze?
Without the basics, kind of tough to advise you. -
CPUID Harware Monitor.
I Really want to avoid reinstalling the OS....

ATI HD Radeon 5870 x-fire

Windows 7's log is retarded.
Always says "Bluescreen" No matter what.
If i smash the PC into the wall, repair it, then boot it, it will say "Bluescreen" -
Well, then I cant help you. The Event Log is not retarded as it can include quite a bit of useful info on determining why an app locked up or crashed.
In any case, if you can provide the info I asked, I'm more than happy to give suggestions. Otherwise I and most likely several others here will not be able to come close to giving you useful suggestions which may help to resolve your issue. This is a tech forum, you cant expect answers without basic information. Driver versions are basic info and critical when looking at display related issues. -
Also i was just scrolling through my general maps, like Documents etc.
I was playing wow (or well, it was running while i was AFK)
A09 bios
Catalyst Drivers 10.12 -
So what does the CPUID show @ load?

I am having the same problem as well. I am current with all the drivers from Dell including BIOS A10 and the VBIOS update released on 9/20/2010.

Are you having the problem with freezing while running in Safe Mode?
If you can run in Safe Mode, this will let you do more troubleshooting and will help to confirm if you have a driver or software problem. Try running System Restore and rolling back to a date prior to when this issue began to occur. It is possible that something as seemingly benign as a Windows Update installation failure or conflict is causing your problem.
This is a shot in the dark, but I still have to ask. What antivirus program are you using?
I axed the McAfee Security Center as soon as I received my M17x R2 and installed Microsoft Security Essentials, and I started having serious lockups using MSE a day or two later. I have been running MSE on 6 other home computers with good results, but it does not play nice with this machine. After many days of troubleshooting with drivers and finding no luck, I removed MSE as a last ditch effort to find a solution and bingo! I ran unprotected a couple of days and no lockups. I installed MSE and hard freezes started again within less than an hour. So, installed removed MSE again and Avira (free version) instead and have not had a single Windows 7 lock-up since October.
I have posted about this on several forums and I have heard from 5 or 6 people that eliminating MSE solved their previously unsolvable Windows 7 freezing problems. That was a bummer because I really like MSE and it still works great on my other computers.
