So i'm getting a R3 replacement (currently in production, should be here soon) and I'm looking into getting the Razer Carcharias. I know these headphones work on the soundcard and was wondering how the quality was. Also, does anyone have any problems with this headset overall?

I have owned the Carcharias. They where a good set, but I have found better. I used to have some issues with the Mic.The build quality is ok lots of plastic. What is your price range?

My price range will probably be no higher than $150...but that's really pushing it.

Well I do youtube videos and such so I need a good microphone too. Sound doesn't really matter to me too much.

Ok, I will just recommend some good headsets that won't break the bank

HPA2's/HPX these are True 5.1 surround sound headphones 4 speakers in each ear. These I get the best sound out of for gaming(awesome directionality) and movies. The microphone is a flexible gooseneck with noise cancelling Extremely clear microphone no sound leakage. It is like a swiss army knife with all the accesories and many different cables to plug into different sources.

Avoid the Razer Megalodon that thing leaks sound like a broken faucet leaks water, and the mic picks up everything you hear.

Razer Carcharias is a good headset I did have some leakage of sound and the mic would pick it up, but no where near as bad as the Megalodons. they are similar to the megalodons as far as look and comfort which is a good thing IMO.

Now those are the headsets I can recommend are you interested in a headphone plus clip on mic or do you just want a headset?

I would like a headset since I only really use the headset when I'm using my mic :p

Aside from the leakage you get from the Carcharias would you still recommend the headset?

Yes I would It was pretty good IMO, but I would say that the HPA2's are better and cost about the same with no sound leakage. If I still had my carcharias I would do a recording comparison between the two, but sadly I broke them.
