Since I can't order a non-BGA laptop from Alienware now, is there a site or a dell reburb site where I can get NON-BGA laptops? Like the M17xR4 that I have now....

I require 4 so dimm slots, etc.....

Don't know where you are located, but I've just done a cursory search on eBay UK and used 'Alienware 17 R1' as the search term; item number 321727731918 is described as 'Dell Outlet NEW Sealed in the Dell Outlet Box'

I'm based in the UK and this supplier is in the USA and sells worldwide. I'd just like to state that I have not dealt with the vendor, have no connection with the vendor and provide the item number as an example - this search brought up ten AW17 R1's described as 'New' so non-BGA AW17's can be found.....

    Happy hunting!

I was able to pick up a new AW17 R1 from the dell outlet. It looks like they have a few configurations still listed here:

    http://outlet.us.dell.com/ARBOnline...c=us&cs=22&l=en&s=dfh&brandid=2201&fid=100982

    Good luck with your search.

FWIW, another member here helped me locate a 25% discount code prior to my purchase and saved a bunch as well. That particular promotion ended 4/26 but I'm sure there are always deals going on.

You can try the DELL outlet, eBay or NBR Marketplace.
