    I know there is already a huge thread devoted to packs for the R3, however after reading the entire post I have yet to come up with an acceptable backpack.

    I'm planning on taking the laptop with me to classes, so ideally I'm looking for a bag that holds:

    * M17x R3 & Power supply
    * 1-2 Textbooks, a spiral notebook

    Additionally:
    * Not gigantic
    * Under $50 ($75 max)

    I'm sure there are other students hauling around there AW's, so I'm open to any recommendations.

    Not gigantic but holds M17x & 2 text books? Sounds like an oxymoron!

    Okay, okay I guess that is asking too much. I'd settle for just holding the laptop. I can add padding if its not secure enough, but just finding a bag w/ laptop compartment that FITS this beast is hard enough, and being on a budget isn't making it any easier.

    I agree 100% but cheap it ain't. :)

    If you're patient there are some on ebay every now and then that you could probably get under $75.

    I have also seen it at Target. Make sure to get the one that zips on both sides for a laptop area. This backpack has help up great for the three years I have owned it.

    I've been rocking this backpack for 4 years now. I bought it from K'zoo, Michigan. I've abused it in every single way, stuffing it with laptops and textbooks unrelentlessly. When it started showing signs of tear (finally) I took it to a Bentley, only by then I was in Halifax, Canada. Even four years later, in a different country, they fixed it for free and told me they cover all Swiss Bags regardless of origin. Top quality bag, and a top quality customer service. My M17X R4 is arriving tomorrow, and I sure hope it fits it.
