Ok so I've decided to go with MX-4 for my repaste as i hear its pretty good and doesnt stain your gpu like ic diamond does. So can someone please confirm I didnt miss a step here.

Wear an anti static wrist band and gloves.
    Take off bottom cover
take off fans left and right
remove 4 screws in both heat sinks
pull straight out to remove heat sink
clean old paste with isopropl alcohol and Q-tips (will alcohol getting on the card or cpu damage it in any way or is it safe?)
once clean add a small pea sized amount of paste to the dies and apply the heat sink to spread
    reassemble

Did I miss any important steps or saefty measures ? is isopropl alcohol safe to use on these chips? Thanks a bunch guys

Looks good. As for me i just usually discharge static electricity by touching somthing metal, but what you are doing is better and safer. When putting the heatsink back double check the thermal pads for proper placement then screwing back the gpu heatink do the x method.

looks good to me. If you want to see the paste spreading methods that worked best for me, look at my 7970 guide and my install CPU guide. I used less than pea size in the middle on the GPU because the die is square shaped. But on the CPU, it is rectangular, so look at the screenshot in my cpu guide for what i did.

    have fun with it

PS...isopropyl 99% is what i use and it evaporates very quickly so you don't have to worry about it. I just used high grade paper towel. Using Qtips is like painting a wall with a toothbrush. I don't have the patience for that lol
