So, after much debate and haggling, DELL have finally agreed to replace my faulty unit.
In their graciousness they said "please keep the accessories of the laptop. Please return the laptop, battery and charger"
Im curious, does this mean the new unit wont have these, or will it have all the fruit of a new machine?

Ahh if thats the case then thats mighty nice of Mr Dell.
That will be a big thanks and green tick from me -
so...do tell...cuz i am now on my 3rd laptop.....(upgrading to the 6970...free of cost)
did your laptop have the rattling front battery issue...... -
Nope,
Mine had the raised media bar issue, along with a misaligned touchpad and keyboard.........
Wow 3rd laptop, thats sad.
How did you go with upgrades, i managed to get an extra year warranty........ -
-
That being said, lets see how my replacement turns out....... -
So you get to keep the mousepad, sticker and cap? Coool!

Wow! Dell Australia knows how to make their customers happy!

3rd laptop....well cuz the 1st one was a B2 (and no matter what i did...it WOULD not show to be a b3...secondly optimus wouldn't work on GTA4-ELFC...despite whitelisting/ commandline/ patches.......) so this carried onto laptop 2 with the mobo now on B3, but with all above issues and the media bar/button issue....
issue is i would rather not have 3D but have the option to run the PC on battery for a bit longer....that's why i wouldn't option a 3D screen...that meant they had to move me to 18X or the 17X with the 6970....and frankly all of this is become trying...
