Got my m17xr3 yesterday and it's glorious!

However, it's now prompting me to generate a respawn disk which I'm assuming is their recovery CD thing. However, I've now installed a handful of games too - the respawn will only backup the OS install not the games wont it?

Short answer-yes. The Respawn will take the computer back to "Factory" settings the way it was when you opened it up and powered it on. You can do it on a USB also which is much faster-backing up and reinstalling. You need an 8Gb USB drive though. Well worth the 12-15$ it would cosy to get a new one.

If you want to do a system backup with all your games and programs, you can do that with the Windows backup utility. I have found it to work darn good. Ohters say use Acronis or the like. I have found the Windows program to be sufficient.

I am pretty sure it just makes a bootable copy of the factory recovery partition on your hard drive.
