I ordered an M17X R2 on Dec 31st and it is still in production. Depending on the specs of the M17X R3 (fully revealed tomorrow), I might decide to go for it. I would like to know if it is possible for me to cancel my current order and place an order for the R3 without incurring a restocking fee.
I am aware of the 21 day return policy, but I have seen contrasting info on this forum regarding the restocking fee. Some have mentioned that there is no restocking fee if i cancel my previous order and immediately order another system (done within the first 21 days).
I would very much appreciate clarification on this.

There should be no re-stocking fee if your purchasing a R3 in place of the R2.

Even if you won't purchase the R3 there shouldn't be a restocking fee as long as you're in the 21 day return perioud but Dell will try to convince you to keep the rig.

Same as above ^^ unless you really don't want dual gpu's and prefer a slightly lower resolution. (or REALLY want 3D )

honestly there will always be better someday, the world of technology won't stop even after the m18x so the trick is you have to say " i want this one because it suits my needs".
