I need some help because Dell speaks Indian and doesn't give details on anything...

I contacted to return, and had to do so four times because the first three were incredibly rude about the restocking fee, even though my computer doesn't work. (My I, O, and U keys don't work on the right side, followed by the Q, W, E, and R keys on the left side. Strange right?) Anyway, the fourth one didn't even mention it, and just said they'd pick it up on Monday, and gave NO other details which he said would be in the email.

    This was the email:

Anyway I tried calling him today, but he is out till monday which is when my computer is being picked up by Fedex. So what all do I have to return along with the computer, and where the heck do I get the shipping label? None of this was mentioned and I can't get it anywhere.

I also don't have a Discover Card Account so, I don't know why this BS automated message even said that.

Any of you ever dealt with Dell returns? I have no idea what to do, and no idea how to find out until the day I'm suppose to send it away.

    Thanks a bunch.

I called the EPP return/exchange department. I was never emailed a shipping label, just gave a return tracking number.

    I'm really confused.

First that tracking number is ups not fedex and if they are crediting a discover card I'd want to make sure they have the right person. Was the order the same as yours? You will need to call them back and get them to send u the shipping label or confirm the driver will do it.

    Cheers,

I know it's UPS but since Fedex delivered it I just assumed they were taking it. I didn't know Dell dealt with two shipping companies.. Hmm.

Anyway I called and they confirmed that the driver would have the shipping label on hand and I didn't need to worry about it.

Last question, what all do I need to send back? I really like the mouse pad, so.. can I keep it?

Seriously? NO you can't keep the mouse pad! It's stealing, kept it, get it fixed or return the whole kit, those are your options. Are you really going to let Dell potentially delay your return over a $5 mouse pad. If you want mine I'll sell it to you.

On a more useful note, this is all normal. When I returned a replacement system to dell they issued me a tracking # and told me nothing. 3 days later a FedEx shipping label showed up the mail. During those 3 days I called them ask what to do, told them I prefered UPS, and they emailed me link to print my own UPS label.

Ok ok I won't keep it. And just for the record it's probably worth more like $2. I'm glad some of you have had great experiences with Dell, but this has been undoubtedly the worst experience with any manufacturer/reseller I have EVER dealt with.

Wish it would have gone a lot better, it was a fairly nice computer. :(

Some people find the keyboard horrible some don't. COming from MBP, it took me a while to get use to its flex. It's not great compared to MBP but i would not say horrible.

What I get is what I return. For example I had a nice XPS 17 that didn't cut it. So I sent back everything it came with, including any wrappings along with it.

Granted, that as soon as you give it back, it will be stripped to the essentials so the next person won't even get anything like that. At least thats my experience so far.

Not an Alien. I don't know yet. Probably will wait for 7xxx to come out to see if Asus wises up and goes with them instead of nVidia.
