    Yay..

    M17x R3 Replacement has been opened.. :D
[arrived Tuesday 21/06/11 but was away on business]

    Specs in my sig.

    First off

Weight / size - 10/10 - Not very much difference, feels nice...material is really nice to touch and hold. No problems cleaning.

Design / Keyboard - 10/10 - Had concers keyboard wasnt very good but its excellent and solid and design of laptop is quality. Layout of the keys is good, size and shape is well measured.

Battery Life - 8/10 - is nice relative to the size and power of this machine

    Now the Questions:
    1) After restarting I get a black screen with only a single _ on the screen which lasts 2 mins maybe? Is this normal?

    and..
    2) Currently i have the
    BIOS Version A04
    EC Version 1.04
    MC Version 7.04.1197
    Sandy Bridge Version QS

Do I need to update my bios?

    Finally..
    3) What is the install order for the driver upgrades?

Where is the review o_O lol

Votes to rename thread Statement + Questions

1.) Not normal sounding for any laptop I have used, but maybe the M17X is just slow to boot.

2.) Never NEED to update bios unless you have a problem, but check the driver database and see if they have a newer bios and then you can choose to update if they do.

3.) No specific order, but usually go for chipset first and just go from there.
