    I was looking at the drive smart data and had one of the numbers strike me as being unusually high.

    Are there particular number thresholds I should be paying attention to that would indicate potential near time failure?

    To my knowledge, you look for increasing SMART errors. If they start going up fast from day to day its an indication that the drive is going bye bye.
