Just got my machine last night and installed SC2 and have the units and minerals disappearing. I have tried to read all the threads regarding this and ASH recommends setting the crossfire mode from AFR to Tiling. Some people recommend setting AA to 16. I am running the most up-to-date drivers from dell. Do I have to upgrade to 10.7 to play this game. This is very messed up. Do I have to wait for the new drivers? I don’t want to install the beta just yet.

    What do I do?

I am still in installing hell so the simplest solution please.

    Thanks,
    Cobra99

Setting shaders to high should solve minerals and units issues in melee map games. Set them to high then vs computer and see.

On my R1, the second GPU is never on while playing SC2. I don't understand, I've tried everything.

I can confirm SC2 runs flawlessly (no flickering and no dissapearing units) with:

    Dell ATI 8.763
    10.8 CAP (profiles)
RadeonPro profile tools to force tripple buffering + V-sync
    BETA Vbios

A nice combo of Ultra + high settings will have you running at 60 FPS with this setup

System is stable, no problems with BSOD on sleep/battery.
I understand if you don't want to try this out, but if you change your mind at least you know it's working :D

You'll want to uninstall your current ATI driver/CCC/ (through uninstall programs), restart on safe mode and use driver sweeper to erase any remaning files, once done, start normal windows and use driver sweeper again just for kicks. If in you want to confirm just for kicks, go to device manager and make sure no cards appear under display drivers. This is what worked for me.

Once you do this, try playing SC (just dont put your comp to sleep/use it on battery at this point) just get a feel for the improvements. After doing that you can install the 10.8 CAP (profiles) along with radeon pro, and try those out. Once your happy with the above, you can then proceed to do the Vbios flash "to seal the deal" in a matter of speaking heh, so you can remove the BSOD under sleep/battery use.

Grimfan and Joker have a good explanation on the proper way to install the Vbios and for Radeon Pro. The only scary part in this process is the vbios, and for that you just have to run the utility as many times as needed until you get the ATIWinflash window saying adapter 0 and 1 Flash aleady programed and only then, can you choose to restart and start enjoying SC II

    Cheers!

I had the same problem until I did the above what Coquibob did minus the RadeonPro.

Ok though the vbios flash is only for the R2 with 5870 therefore I won't do that...
