    Hello all,

New to the forums, but been lurking for a while now. I just ordered a M17x R2. I couldn't pull the trigger on the R3 (need more definite info) and wanted to scoop up the R2 just in case they are pulled with the R3's release. If the R3 confirms some questions I've had so far in a positive way I'll return the R2 within the 21 day span to avoid the restocking fee.

Any way it's Space Black and basically loaded to the gills.... expect I went with a standard single SATA hard drive. But I want to use that drive for storage and install an SSD when it arrives for my boot drive / OS.

I'm looking at 2 different 160GB SSD's at the moment....

    Intel X25-M Mainstream

    and the...

    Corsair Force CSSD

So may question or questions would be.

    - Will I need any hardware to complete the install? Or will the R2 have the cage, screws, etc...?
    - Is the Cosair's write access really almost triple the Intel?
    - Which one would be the best option?
    - Is there a better SSD in this size range?
    - Why is the SSD you suggest the best choice?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

    Welcome to NBR!
First,it should come with the caddy and accessories.
Second you might want to take a look at this thread as the R2(and not only) suffers from SSD speed issues so if you want to keep the SSD in your R2 i say go for the best deal.
    cheers

I too am looking at SSD's....also looking at the Intel X25-M 160gb but there is a new one around the corner (Postville Refresh or G3 - 3rd Generation) so I am forced into hanging fire until they have been tested.

I was also looking at OCZ Vertex II, seen a few "newly released" versions that now come in 160/200gb sizes and are 25nm architecture.... http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-069-OC

I too would really appreciate some solid info on which is the best 100gb+ SSD for the R2. (current 4k read/write speeds aside)

Sorry , hope I am not hijacking your thread but I am in the same position as you are and will watch what gets posted here...
