My R2 is set to deliver tomorrow and is on time, but with my luck, it could take additional days. However, I've got tons of research to do yet so it'll be fine.

One of the things I'm researching is an SSD upgrade. For the longest time I was set on Crucial C300 since it has top notch performance with more energy use, but I hear intel has better reliability, and Samsung 470, though slower like intel, has better reliability and performance consistency. Anyone have inputs as to how these compare?

I'm also torn between 64GB and 128GB. I think I'll be fine with 64GB + HDD, but with 128, I won't need HDD. Better performance for all, and better battery life without 2nd HDD.

I would go with a 128 GB at least, you will be surprise how fast it can fill up, and sure you can use the a second drive for data, but there are just some things that need to go on the boot drive for better speed etc.

as for which drive, well again they are all fast in comparison to a standard drive, so I would look at price per GB and waranty as the main deciding factors.

Wait Intel is slower? I thought X25-m g2 is the best SSD you can buy right now.
If you do decide to go with that, you have the option to choose between 80GB, 120GB and 160GB.
And you can get the 120GB X-25M G2 for $169 shipped from newegg.

Intel is more reliable than others in general, but it's not the fastest.

He's right...don't get anything smaller than 128GB. I got an 80GB and wanted to kick my own butt every time I had to uninstall something just to add another.

I have to agree with TurbodTalon 80gb hard drive and space. I bearly have the room to have windows. LOTRO and Civ 5 plus 10gb of empty space.
