    SSD and RAM in m17x R4

    hi i will be gettin my Alienware tmrw
    i was wondering which HD slot of M17x r4 has SATA III 6GBps
    or does both have em

    cz i will be puttin in a Sammy 830 SSD and i wanted to know the right way and the right slot to put it
    its gettin shipped with 750Gb
    shud i remove that and put the ssd or put it in the other slot

    also lemme know the right place i shud put my two 4gb Corsair sticks in, bottom or underneath the keyboard

    Bay 1 (the one in the middle next to the GPU) is SATA III so you'll want to put your SSD there. Don't forget to change the boot order in the BIOS.

    If you're only using 2 RAM modules, the two DIMMS on the bottom (DIMM 1 and 2) will be just fine.

    I thought bay 0 was also SATA III

    Only R3 has sata 3 failures, only 1 port semi works on A08 bios, upgrade to A09 or A10 and lose all SATA3 completely. R4 has both ports working in SATA3.

    My mistake. I wasn't aware the issue was resolved in the R4.
