Hey there.. I've attached my results from my SSD benchmarking and apparently my write speed is crap.

I was wondering if this could be a cause for my laptop working terribly slow when I multitask/install stuff/run stuff. Also, If anyone could suggest any methods of fixing this!

Dell rep didn't help me much :T Please help!!

right off the bat, alignment's off so i'm going to guess a win xp formatted drive. that will kill writes, right there...

there's a couple ssd bechmarking/config threads in here and in the hardware forum. all kinds of info there - rather than repeat it all, go there....

an (ibtl?) short list of things to look for: os, alignment to 4k, trimable firmware, ahci/raid, drive age, os config, etc...

Crumpie, that ssd drive that you have also leaves a lot to be desired. The pm 800 does not support TRIM. I had the same problem you did. I called Dell and they replaced it wit he Pm 810 witch is a much beter drive. If you got yours from Dell and it is still in waranty you might wanna try to get them to replace it.

Don't spread false rumors the Pm800 DOES support trim.

Both are right and wrong, certain PM800s do support TRIM, others do not. Early gen 1 NAND based PM800s like mine (fw:VBM15D1Q) do not, and (according to SAMSUNG) will not ever support TRIM.
