It will work fine. Do you have two drives in there now? If you plan on keeping the drive you currently have you will want to make sure you have the second drive cage in there to add the SSD too as some people didn't get the drive cage if they didn't order two HDD's when they originally bought the system.

The Samsung SSD's are largely considered the best on the market but they are also some of the most expensive.

SanDisk Extreme Pro is also a very good option. Buy what you can get for best price. The mentioned ssd is probably the best you can get.

Yes that is the drive cage he was talking about ... To add to this, I use a harddrive in that slow without drive cage and it is working just fine ... so with or without it is ok

You can even remove the ODD and add another (you need a kit from Silverstone and add couple of extra padding to the edges and fit it there), Plus if you open the palmrest you can access the mSATA and snap in another SSD there, My OS drive is mSATA SSD (Lite On OEM drive, I will upgrade to the 850Evo 1TB later on if needed)

As said by Papusan get a Sandisk Extreme Pro It's the fastest & reliable SATAIII drive for consumer market, 850 Pro is expensive & It's also fast but Sandisk is faster in real case scenarios plus the firmware updates from Samsung with that Magician bloatware is too much. Plug and Play 960 Extreme Pro with IRST driver + Sandisk SSD dashboard (Zero Bloat) = Profit.

Only downside(s) is less space by a bit and no encryption support for the Extreme Pro.
