    Intel 510
    Crucial M4
    OCZ Vertex 3

Seems alot of people choose between these three. My Intel 510 SSD has been perfect from day one.
Solid State Drives (SSDs) and Flash Storage (lots of information)

I did a complete new windows install (backed up music, videos, documents) so cant help there.

I also have the Intel 510 and it has been great. If you would like to go the Sandforce controller way I suggest you look at the Kingston HyperX SSD instead of the Vertex 3. I trust Kingston much more than I trust OCZ.

I don't think the port matters in the R2 because it is not SATA 3 capable.
