I mistakenly first put my SSD into the system and installed my respawn disc without changing the SATA mode to AHCI. Once I realized my error, I switched to AHCI and used the respawn disc again. Still no dice.

This got me wondering...is the problem the fact that my Respawn disc is from the RAID installed Windows? Do I just need to do a clean install of Windows 7 with my BIOS set to AHCI? Any help would be super appreciated. I'm really new at all this and just want it to work right!

    Most likely yes

Alienware (down our ways) sends a raid 0 machine always,so I would say yes, get your drives our of raid PRIOR to installing any OS

A clean install is abetted install..not to mention you can optimize the SSD perf. as intended

    thessdreview.com has a good guide
If you look around here you would find a great guide
SSD magician (a SAMSUNGs program for their ssd can quickly apply some of the OS parameters which would/could be detrimental to the drives)

Clean install man. You got it. AHCI from the start. Be sure to search the forums for any info related to your SSD in case there are subtle issues.

After switching to AHCI, the drive needs to be reformatted again.

I just got done grappling with this issue and here is how my experience went. I left the BIOS set to raid, then used my respawn discs to install my restore to the new SSD drive. Afterwards I tried enabling AHCI in Bios but kept getting the blue screen right after the animated windows boot logo.

I set it back to raid, then downloaded the latest Intel RST drivers which were 10.8.x.x. There were also 2 registry adjustments that needed to be made. I will have to look up the exact details, but it was under

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services

Look for msahci as well as atapi and change the start values from "3" to "0".

I dont know what atapi has to do with it, but when i tried with only modifying the msahci key, i still blue screened when trying to boot. However, when I changed the atapi as well, it then booted to windows and once in the OS it installed some drivers and then required another reboot.

Been running fine ever since. This was yesterday btw. Tonite i plan on running some benchmarks, but as the op said, my wei score also increased to 7.8 for the diskdrive after the changes.

Acronis Universal Restore works wonders in this instance - run your respawn then pop an acronis disk in and apply universal restore.
