Hey Guys,
Just got two brand new Force 3 120GB, but when i tried to install them in my M17x R2 I could only install one of them because the connecter in the HHD1 slot was different from the other slot. The connecter in the SSD is not compatable with the slot. Went from two 7200 rpm 500 GB black scopio, and I did notice that the connecter was different between the two.
Any ideas?

If you were able to install two HDDs in your M17x R2, that means you have all you need to install your new SSDs.
When you took out the HDD from the HDD1 slot, it probably came out with this part:
M17x / M17x R2 interposer
You need to take it out and connect it on the SSD that you want to install in the HDD1 slot. -
Yea, what he said. Check you HDD that was in Slot 1. The adaptor will be sitting on the end of that HDD.
-
So the only thing i need is to take it off? Easier than I had expected.
Thanks guys! -

Yes, that's actually part of your laptop, not the hard drive
-
So now I have installed the two drivers but I discovered a new problem. For some reason I can't see the drives in windows only the one with windows installed on it , but in the Bios it shows both ssd's.

Right click Computer > Manage > Storage > (double click ) Disk Management
Right click on the new drive and select New Simple Volume, assign it a letter and you'll be able to use it -
Thanks man!

No problem, is it working now?
-
Yeah it works great! But I'm a little disappointed about the performance. Not a big difference from my old drives

You are the only person that I have heard that did not immediately notice a huge difference in performance between a spindle drive and an SSD.
-
To be honest the whole experience with my first ssd's has been overall meh.
Bad packaging, no quality feel (weight, sound and look) and the performance is to me at least not that huge. The time of windows boot has not even been halved. -
The fast startup/shutdown is what I like most. Lets you login to get what you need fast and shut down within a minute rather than waiting a minute to start up and then another min to shut down.
Love my Vertex 2. ^_^
Also... halved? Uhm... Raid0 isn't enabled automatically just because you have an identical second drive installed. You have to enable that yourself. Also, adding a second SSD for your data doesn't help your boot drive at all. It just means you have a second drive for storage purposes that's just as fast as the boot drive.
Also, the Force series SSDs tend to experience a few problems early on too. They're like the Vertex line. Sometimes you get a bad egg.
