    Hi folks.

Title says it all. I am toying with the idea of the above monitor as an external source for gaming on the M17x.

It seems to have had some very good reviews (CNET etc) but nothing speaks louder than people who have experience of these things directly.

Therefore, I thought I would ask fellow M17x owners for their help or advice on the BX2450 or any suitable alternatives.

Anyone who has direct experience of the BX2450 would be great to get some feedback.

    Thanks guys! :)

I know this probably isn't the reply you're looking for, but I would just put that money toward an SSD or a CPU upgrade. I paid $200 extra for this LCD, and only time it gets hooked to an external is when my wife and I are watching a movie. On the other hand, Samsung, 1080P, and LED for around $300? Wouldn't be a bad buy.

True, i kinda agree with the SSD thing.

The only thing that I am thinking of really is using a larger screen for gaming on....my M17x is pretty much stationary on its desk and I have room for a larger 24" monitor next to it...

Dont get me wrong, the screen on the lappy itself is brilliant but I would like something bigger and afaik, they dont make 24" laptops yet LOLOL ;)

The Samsung looks like a good deal and I can pick up a brand new bx2450 for under £200gbp.

Its either a toss up between the samsung or something else....after lots of looking into it, seems for my main intended use, a fast response time is best (around 2ms) and although it will be a TN display and not s-ips (too expensive and slow response times for gaming on although colour reproduction and viewing angles would be superior on the ips panel) im struggling to find something that SEEMS better for the money.

Looked at some Dell monitors (including optx) but they are way too pricey for what you get...(least i think so) so if anyone has any other suggestions in and around my price range of £200gbp, bring it on!

I have the Optx and it is very nice but I think the 3D technology in it made a tad pricey.
