Just got this last week and after configuring everything I finally installed blu ray DVD software. There is substantial bleed on the upper right side of the screen. it's enough to be a distraction. I noticed it a bit when playing Dead Space 2 yesterday but not nearly as bad as watching this movie tonight.

Is this common on these RGB screens? Should I call for repair or send it back? or live with it?

You are the first to mention screen bleed, so i think you need to bring it up with DELL. Some photos would also be nice so we can see what you are dealing with.

might be a stupid question, but can u make sure it's a RGB screen? because RGB almost never does that. could be a CCFL

If you get a program called HWiNFO32, you can get ID names that can identify the monitor. The latest version of the RGB Display should have this code:

    Monitor Name: J2CY8€170CT

See if you can find that ID in your HWiNFO32 report.

If the bleed really bothers you then contact dell, let them know and hopefully you can get them to send you a replacement screen.

Be ready for at least an hour on the phone with them (with your computer with you) so that they can run through the script (doing useless tests) before they agree to it.... just got to play the game with them

    Good luck

I am sure these are edge-lit screens so some bleed on the edges is fairly common. This is almost always seen in LED-LCD TVs that use edge vs local lighting. I have the same panel and mine does it as well.

Yeah of all the problems I've had with my M17, the RGB LED screen has NOT been one of them (knock on wood!) It's a gorgeous display.

I have bleeding around on the four borders. It does not bother me at all in gaming and movies. I believe that all RGB LED on our M17x have bleeding. Degrees may vary but I doubt that there are ones that don't have bleeding at all.

If you do get a replacement, could I get the cables for that rgb? Preferably the inverter cable.
