I normally keep my laptop on the alienware backpack when not in use (i mainly use it for work). Yesterday i didn't realize the weather would be so hot here in MD and had it sitting in the laptop bag in the backseat of my car for over an hour in the morning. When i got to work and plugged my laptop in, the screen kept flashing repeatedly (still does it now). It will do that for a few seconds - minutes then will be fine for a few hours then start doing it again. Any idea how to go about fixing this issue? I suspect its hardware related (maybe from heat? or lose cable?).

    Thanks!

Are you saying that you keep your laptop turned on and inside your backpack? If so, that is not a really smart thing to do. Chances are something overheated and you may have issues with the GPU going out or other components.

Edit: I think I misread, you are just saying you keep it in the backpack when not in use. It still may have something to do with overheating because of being left in the back of your car on a hot day.

Just to clarify, I keep it powered off when not in use. I had a feeling it had to do with overheating but I didn't think keeping it powered off would still affect it as much.

Just in case, reinstall your video card drivers.

I would try reinstalling the video drivers and trying to reseat the LCD cable. If you have the accidental damage warranty you can send the computer in for repairs and let us check on it. You can contact us on [email protected] with your tag and phone number along with a brief description of the issue.
