    Hi all,

Just wanted to ask if anyone else has a solution for this.
Updated to the latest A10 bios still does it on an Alienware m17xr2.

When the screen saver in win 7 64 bit goes on ( I have selected blank screen at 3min) after about 30 seconds or so of blank screen the GPU (ATi 4870m) starts to heatup I can see this in gpu-z and the fans start to increase in speed becoming very loud. I am not sure why this is occurring as a blank screen saver is a non-3d application. Also, when I game and then exit the game the screensaver no longer activates after the 3min??

    Any ideas?
Not the OSD upgraded to latest still does it.
Yeah just a further update the gpu load goes to maximum after about 45seconds or so after the screensaver(blank) comes on. Must be a weird bug with the old 4870 HD cards?
further update... if I have task manger open it does not load up the GPU so something is playing with the task manager. Anyone have an idea if it's the keyboard colors and how does one stop it from booting up interfering with task manager.
further update 2. changing the amd drivers to original has stopped the oveheating but fans still ramp up after screen saver comes on or screen goes off. Must be a dell gpu thermals card issue

    Update 3 final/resolved
Malware discovered. Reinstalled windows and no more problem. :)

I'm glad you got it sorted out. I was going to recommend you the O.S install until I saw the last edit haha.

    Luis thnx you for replying.
Out of curiousity after playing games and exiting to desktop have you experienced that the screensaver in win 7 is always at 1min changing from my default 3min? Only playing games will do the change and not sure how to fix this one.

Haven't noticed that because I always keep the screensaver off :(
