Alright so I recently bought and installed an ssd. After figuring out everything about it and formatting it, i read up about installing Windows 8 on it so it can act as a boot drive. The only problem I have is I saw that you need to perform a clean install of Windows 8 or your speeds will be affected. I did not receive a windows 8 install disk with my computer and was wondering if I could just use alien respawn to install windows and the drivers. Will it affect the speeds?
Regards,
Mike

Nobody? I've been searching forums for hours but am yet to find something that is actually useful. If anyone has any idea about if the the AlienRespawn system backup effects the speeds of the SSD that would be very useful.

You might have issues with alienrespawn, my machine originally didnt come with windows 8 so I don't know about the OEM factory windows key if they work with normal installs. I would avoid the alien respawn and just get a generic wndows 8 image it should have most the drivers pre built in, only one I had to install was the free fall sensor.
Your key should be under the battery though, otherwise its written into the BIOS. But it should be there. -

You can make a copy of the Windows 8 install disk by following this article ( here), you'll need to burn a DVD (have a blank DVD to use) and time. Restart your computer with the DVD, go to the device list and select the DVD/CD drive. If you're wondering where the Product Key is, its in located on a sticker on the computer ( here).
EDIT: Windows 8 doesn't use those stickers ( here). -
Can he??? -

Either he purchases the copy from a store or the product key that was supplied by Dell was for his Windows 8 install (a BIOS embedded product key( here)). -
First step already tells you to open an email after you bought a Windows 8 copy. He has only laptop with OEM Windows. So he can't download iso file.

He can, the link that was given in the email is here. Although, I'm unsure whether he has a legal purchase of Windows 8, those instructions should work as long as you purchased a copy of Windows 8 through their store or a manufacturer like Dell.
