Okay, so i got my R3 when it was relaunched in March. I have been absolutely loving the laptop ever since, i have not run into any problems, the build quality has been perfect(no raised media bar etc..) and the only gripe i have is the screen(i was spoiled by the RGBLED of my last SXPS 16). So now i am currently in India and will be back to the US in August for college. A friend of mine in India liked my laptop and he was looking to purchase a similar one, but Dell India only offers the 3d version with a 460m here so i he was disappointed. I suggested he try HIDevolution but he was not comfortable with ordering Internationally. He then made me an offer for my laptop which is tempting. The specs are in my sig and it also comes with 3yr Accidental damage protection. I got a good discount from my rep and i paid 2400$(+taxes) for the system. The Intel SSD cost me 280$ and the Kingston ram cost me 90$, I sold the stock 8gb ram for 4000INR(or 90$, i sold the ram when i came to India for the summers and as i knew ram and other hardware stuff is more expensive here so i decided i would sell it in India). The offer he made me was 1,60,000 INR (or 3600$) ie the same price that AW sells the 3d R3 in India for. Now he is aware of the actual price of the system and i even told him i got a nice discount. I even told him that i could order the laptop for him when i get back to the States and then post it to him if he was not comfortable with a website. But he says he does not want to wait that long as he starts college in July and wants to take the laptop with him. A similar laptop from HIDevolution would cost him around 4000$ with shipping and taxes. So now the dilemma for me is that i love my laptop but if i do sell it, it will open the possibility of me getting a m18x which i really like or even another R3 with a 580m or a 6990m. But honestly i don't feel like selling my laptop even though i love the idea of getting the M18x. What should i do?? I know this is a question that you guys cant answer, i mean it is kind of personal preference but still any sort of input will be great.

This is just me, but I would definitely sell based on the situation. Although it would suck to see my R3 go, it would open the door for better things like they newer GPUs and even the M18x like you said with the extra money you make. Personally if I was in your situation I would get something like an M15x or base R3 with 1080p screen and use the rest plus a little more to build a wicked desktop. But that's just me. Anyways, I think you should just do whatever feels right. Good luck.

I would sell it. Its win win for all involved and you loose nothing. If you like the R3 you'll love the M18x. All you loose out on is a little time. You'll be able to play games longer into the future.

If you have a good R3 with no problems you should keep it. I have not had any problems with mine either, but getting a different one is "rolling the dice".
If you can afford an R3 with some nice upgrades, you probably are not too concerned with the few hundred dollars you might profit by selling, so I would take the money out of the equation.
The only reason to do it is if you really want the m18x. -
The thing is that this is just a very good opportunity that has presented it self and I could now get a better notebook, the good money is a factor as earlier I could not have justified just a few months old laptop and getting a newer expensive, but now I am way too tempted. It is currently the middle of night here in India and I am probably gonna sell the laptop in the morning, I just feel bad to say good bye to a laptop I loved so much and I am also kind of scared that the new laptop I buy may not be as flawless, I mean many buyers have had to get replacements and I am scared I may get a bad piece the next time. But screw it I am 99% sure I am gonna sell.

I sold my heavily modded 03 Cobra a few years back because I was offered a few thousand more $$$ than I had in it... I still regret it sometimes, but there are also better options out there now. Faced with the same choice today, I'd do it again.
I LOVED that car... and people actually thought I was going to be buried in that thing. -
Absolutely!!! If I were in your shoes I would sell it!!

If you get the warranty again, flaws can be worked out. Think of it like this, if crossfire gives you issues in some games, disable it and you still have an oversized R3

Selling in a few hours, my friend called me up at 8 in the morning asking if I had made up my mind, he seems way too excited. I told him ok and he agreed to come to my place to get it. Payment made. Good bye R3, currently deleting all my stuff from the SSD and formatted the 750gb drive.
Should I sell my R3
