Hi I recently bought an m17xr3 with the 6990m, I also have the latest AMD drivers installed (11.8). I have noticed a trend in significant decrease in fps from the first time I play the game to the second time and I was wondering why this may be?

In Deus ex Human Revolution the first time I played it after installation with all settings max and 1920x1080 I got 50-60 FPS, however the second time I ran it I only get 20-30 FPS, with all conditions and settings the same. I noticed this also with Stalker call of pripyat during the first run I got 55-65 fps on everything max, but the second time I got only 25-35 fps with all settings the same, this was also for each subsequent run. Any help would be appreciated.

I just wanted to mention that in crysis 2 this problem has not been present, the fps is always consistent.

Did you monitor your temps? The GPU underclocks itself when it gets too hot.

could be heat issue, or could be when you restart the settings changed for the game.

I am pretty sure it is not settings, because I always check them before starting the game. If it was a temp problem shouldn't it affect all games? as I mentioned above crysis 2 (on dx11, fhd, extreme) is still running well (35-40 fps). Anyways I will monitor the temps before and immediately after, does anyone know if alienwares have overheating problem or what cooling solution they use?

This is my 1st time with an ATI card, I am kind of missing the Nvidia reliability factor in my alienware.

for some reason the log part is having some error, even when I redownloaded it, all I am able to get is that my gpu was 60 degrees Celsius before playing call of pripyat, and after one hour with max settings it went to 88 degrees celsius.

I also noticed performance in crysis is significantly lower in extreme, I waited 1 hour after playing call of pripyat.
