Recently I had an experience where I tried to run a game (Amnesia: The Dark Descent) and instead of starting up the entire screen starting flickering pinks, greens, and some blues. It did this for several seconds before my system blue screened. When I restarted it, the little "Windows has a solution to your problem" window popped up and told me that something was screwy with my drivers.

Im just hoping that a driver update is ALL thats required and that my video cards arent about to blow up. Anyways, my drivers havent been able to update successfully since I got my system because my internet connection has been wonky (off and on, sometimes decent, sometimes dial up speeds). And because of this, the driver downloads always have a corrupted file or two and thus cant be installed.

I will be moving to the city soon and will have much better speeds so should I just hold off on PC gaming till I can properly update my drivers?

Im just looking for confirmation as to whats wrong is all.

So far its happened twice while trying to load that game. Over the course of 3 startups. I'm to afraid to try loading any other games in case it does this again and causes permanent damage.

Well it sounds like a driver problem, since it happens as soon as it loads, but you need to try something else to see if it is a hardware problem.
