    Hi all,

Tried searching but couldn't find any threads regarding this. I've just received my M17x that came with 2x 500gb on raid 0. Chucked in a 240gb SSD and installed windows etc.

Now it keeps detecting the leftover 500gb drive as raid, on device manager showing as "dell". In Disk Management it shows as an unintialized 1gb HD and everytime I try to initialize it results in an I/O device error. There's nothing wrong with the 500gb drives as I tried them on a USB caddy and it detects fine, can format etc. Uninstalling and rescanning in device manager, detects it as the dell raid again. Intel RST detects the drive as 500gb and working as per normal. I can't use the drive at all however, since windows is only recognizing it as the raid and thus not working. SATA in bios is set to AHCI.

Any clues? Did I miss something stupid?

Edit: Solved. Had to delete RAID array first.
