rather simple issue and it's not a huge one, but it's a bit annoying.

    what happens:
put my computer to "sleep" through the start menu, leave lid open
    computer goes to sleep.
after several hours it comes back from sleep by itself and automatically goes right into hibernation.

i had my laptop on the desk next to my bed one night (having put it to sleep) and the bright light of the screen wakes me up. It goes to the login screen for about 30 seconds then goes into hibernation.

it was happening before that too, but i'd never caught it happening.

is there a way to fix this? i didn't have this problem before i did a factory restore recently, no idea what would cause this either.

Are you trying to get rid of the hibernation in your laptop? If so open command prompt and type in powercfg -h off. This will disable your hibernation, but if you want to change when it goes into hibernation go into your power settings and adjust it there.

It will do that if the hibernation timer is set in the power config control panel. Just like how the notebook will go to sleep after being left idle for ~30 mins, if you continue to leave it idle after it has been in the sleep state for another say 2 hours, it will automatically go into hibernate. You can change these settings in the power plan's advanced settings menu in the Power Control Panel.

I think that you should just switch the hibernation off as suggested above. That way it'll stay in suspension.
