Before having my M1730 replaced by Dell for my M17x with all the failing GPUs, several in the M1730 community were complaining to Dell that the thermals in the BIOS weren't working correctly causing the GPUs to constantly fail.
That was over a year and a half ago. Today I get an RSS feed alert from Dell (forgot I was still subscribed) saying a new BIOS was available for the M1730. Guess what the patch notes say...
Muahahahahahahahahaha
Then again, if they'd patched it earlier, probably wouldn't of been upgraded to my M17x![]()

EHhahaah LOL! I just saw that as well on another site. I couldn't believe my eyes LOL. They finally released a new BIOS update which is supposed to help the GPU fans run better. Well better late than never I guess!
I would have been ALL over that BIOS update like a bad RASH if I still had my XPS M1730!
Cheers. -
They may have just realized it was an issue when they had to issue so many M17x systems for the 1730s lol. At least you got the better system!

About time. I have to say though aside from the 24 hours collective I spent on the phone with them, I am 100% happy with Dell's decision not to update the BIOS and fix the GPU problem. It's what enabled me to have this beauty of a laptop!
