Any suggestions? I can't get this thing to pull a CD, it seems like it wasn't to start but just never pulls it in fully...Is this a driver issue or a busted slot loader?

The loading function is purely mechanical, if it's not loading the CD it's a broken unit. If you're out of warranty, you can attempt to disassemble the unit and check for debris that's interrupting the load cycle. However getting to the Drive requires breaking the laptop completly down. You can try to plant the laptop on its side (drive slot facing twoard the floor) and run some shots of compressed air too..

there are complete service manuals on Dells site you can look at to help open up the laptop.
Look in the support section for Manuals and go from there -
Well there saying I can ship the laptop back to the US....I'm currently in Afghan it took 86 bucks and 6 days to get here...So ship it back, they will have a technician come and replace it with a Blue Ray RW drive...
Or I pick up a dvd rom portable drive and load my games that way then call dell in 3 months when I get back to the states and have them come out and fix it...However I might have to extend the warranty I think it runs out in 100 days not sure though.
Soooooo crap not sure what to do. -
extend the warranty anyways. It is a good idea with these machines. Protect your investment

You shouldn't have to extend your warranty if it's a pre-existing problem (though I would recommend doing it anyways), you can have them make a note that it's a pre-existing issue though if you don't want to extend your warranty.

+1 to what everyone else had said, but just wanted to add that you should make sure your laptop is sitting on a flat surface. If the laptop is not supported by its "feet" and there's pressure on the underside near the drive it can interfere with loading. Bit of a long shot that would be your problem, but I've seen that happen so I thought I'd throw it out there anyway.

Try hitting it
If not just buy an external optical drive or a slot load SATA drive and install it yourself. -
Yea I bought a 8x iomega dvd drive usb 2.0 at the bx,,,Was 70 bucks, but it got all my games loaded...I'll just extend the warranty when I get back in 3 months have them come out and replace it.
