    Hi guys.
I've noticed that my machine (just came from dell days ago) get slow while i am copiying files between disk's (500 GB HD0 - 500GB HD1), if i open photoshop or any other software, it take a while to open, so, i close it and open again and this get opened fast.

The same happen if i open a game while i am moving info between disk's, the game get lags, i have to close it but i have to wait for the copiying finish to get a normal performance.

I tought this could be because some other process was slowing down the pc, such a intel rapid ( i never use that before), i did uninstall it, but stills.

I have 8GB of ram and the rest of the specs listed on my signature. Thanks

Also, i just went inside the Mother board configuration, Advanced tab, then Sata Operation, and this is set at AHCI, i changed this to ATA, saved the changes and the laptop wont boot, this get stuck at the very first screen (Alien face), i had to hit F2 and wait for a while to go inside the Bios again, set this to AHCI and i went able too boot. What happen?

Once a system is set to AHCI you can't go to ATA. You can go from ATA to AHCI, but not the other way around.

Regarding the copying files, my guess is because the HDD is writing and reading, and now your asking it to find read and load something else, so the effort has to be split. I would venture to say that that is normal for mechanical HDDs. One of the beauties of SSDs, read speed is great.
