Hey ! I´m having very slow boot times on my AW M17X R3. Sometimes up to 1 minute. This is with a Intel 510 120GB SSD as boot drive. Sometimes the windows 7 welcome screen stays for 10+ seconds, sometimes you don´t even see it. I´m sure it runs in Sata3.0. Is it because i have my desktop, movies, downloaded files, pictures folders moved to the 320GB HDD ? I know i should get better boot times than 1 minute with a SSD as boot drive.

Which HD port did you put the SSD into?
SSD's seem to work best if put into port 1. For some reason, they are slipping into SATA 2.0 if they are in port 0.
Also, did you check to make sure you are set to AHCI in the bios? -
The ssd is placed in port 1. Yea, i've checked BIOS and it is set to ACHI.

I have the exact same drive and after some large problems (described in another thread) I've found that my Intel510 in Module1 with RAID0 and booting from the second drive seems to work best. As RAID0 enables all the functionality of AHCI, Intel generally recommend that on their motherboards RAID is the preferred choice. Bootup time on my rig is now roughly 15 seconds.
