    Slow startup at desktop

    Hey guys,

    Randomly, at times my computer is slow to startup once it goes from the Windows login screen to desktop. I use a CPU resource gadget and it usually says that about 30% is being used and it usually stalls for 5+ minutes or so. I use McAfee though and I know that it is a resource hog but this startup lag doesn't happen all the time it's only sometimes. Anyone have any ideas as to what's going on?

    Sure McAfee's not the root of the majority of your problems?

    If it's not, I suggest Autoruns. Or Msconfig. Either one should be able to highlight anything else that loads on login that might surprise you.

    Are you using wireless cause sometimes my wireless takes a few minutes to connect and it makes everything lag big time
