As the title states, I can't turn the ATI discrete gpu back on, I turned the machine completly off, took its battery out waited five minutes, turned it on without AC or battery to completly drain the unit, Then pulled the back cover off and removed my 6990m and its HSF to clean the dust out of it (Damn it was dirty even only after a few months) anyway, cleaned it all out put it back in, Now it won't let me turn it back on, Machine boots up, Intel integrated is the one running and everytime i go to open catalyst control center it goes....

"Catalyst control center cannot be started" There are currently no settings that can be configured using catalyst control center"

Hwinfo 32 however shows that my 6990m is infact there..

Does it show up in Device Manager? Is it disabled in Device Manager for some reason maybe? Are there any BIOS options for disabling/enabling it?

Not in the device manager, It never is when i used intel integrated for long road trips, But it says it's there in the BIos, there does not appear to be options in the Bios to enable or Disable it.

huh... Wierd, I rebooted entirely looked in the Bios just to double check, Machine said it wasn't there at all, So i turned it off, and reseated the card, looks no differant, works fine now *shrugs* now i am pondering if it's worth it to remove stock paste and put something better on.

15*C? What was on there before repasting with PK-1? What are your temps with the PK-1? That's an astounding reduction.

astounding only because my temps were quite high before. When i say 15c, i mean compared to the original temps with the stock paste.

Based on 15 min Furmark Extreme burn-in tests, my GPu temps were going to almost 82-85c with the stock paste. Nothing crashed, but it was getting too toasty. This was running stock clocks

now, the same test at stock clocks (15 mins Furmark), i'm hovering around 67-69c.

The previous paste i used (OCZ Freeze) was good too, but the same test would give temps of around 68-71c so i've gained a few degrees with the new paste
